We finally got our Morgan Press vertical injection molding machine running last night. Here is a quick video of the first parts to ever be injection molded at NextFab. Don’t ask what they are though (the mold came with the machine when we bought it used).

In the video, you can see the three stages of injection molding: Clamping, Injecting, and Part Removal.

The next step is to get our Morgan Press permanently connected to our shop air system in the workshop, at which point we’ll start designing our very first mold. I’ll be doing my best to document the whole process here. If you have any ideas for a simple, useful, and moldable part, leave them in the comments!
